Resilience Meets the Water–Energy–Food Nexus: Mapping the Research Landscape

چکیده
Resilience thinking is increasingly promoted to address some of the grand challenges 21 st century: providing water, energy, and food all, while staying within limits Earth system that undergoing (climate) change. Concurrently, a partially overlapping body literature on water–energy–food (WEF) nexus has emerged through realization systems are intricately linked—and should therefore be understood managed in conjunction. This paper reviews recent scientific publications at intersection both concepts order i) examine status quo resilience as it applied WEF studies; ii) map research landscape along major foci conceptualizations; iii) propose agenda topics distilled from gaps current landscape. We identify key conceptualizations framings used across studies, we observe pronounced differences regarding nexus’ nature, scope, emphasis level integration, resilience’s type, methodological thematic foci. Promising avenues include improving understanding scales, sectors, domains, disciplines; developing tools indicators measure assess systems; bridging implementation gap brought about by (governing) complexity; iv) integrating or reconciling thinking; v) considering other development principles frameworks toward solving beside beyond resilience, including control, efficiency, sustainability, equity.

متن کاملMapping the SUMOylated landscape
SUMOylation is a post-translational modification that regulates a multitude of cellular processes, including replication, cell-cycle progression, protein transport and the DNA damage response. Similar to ubiquitin, SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) is covalently attached to target proteins in a reversible process via an enzymatic cascade. SUMOylation is essential for nearly all eukaryotic or...
